2024 / Hybrid Realities / Milano

Hybrid Realities is a project by Studio Nina Songhori, developed in collaboration with Studio Microchaos, Farnousha Norouzi, Leonardo Carminati, Amanda Gigliotti, Ludovico Graziano, and Rebecca Novara.
The project explores wearable sculptures and kinetic garments inspired by marine forms and movements, highlighting the deep connection between the human body and the natural world. Through a palette drawn from underwater environments—blues, greens, silvers, and vibrant iridescent tones—the garments evoke the visual language of aquatic ecosystems.
Equipped with sensors, the garments respond to movement and environmental stimuli, transforming their appearance and behavior in real time. This creates a dynamic, living system in which clothing becomes an active interface between body, space, and technology.
The project is further expanded through a video installation featuring AI-generated sea creatures that evolve from the garments themselves, establishing a continuous loop between physical and digital forms.
Hybrid Realities was presented during Milano Design Week 2024 at Fabbrica del Vapore, welcoming over 1,500 visitors throughout the exhibition.
