This project explores how computational design and digital fabrication can foster sustainable consumption. By optimizing form-finding, functionality, and manufacturing around material constraints, the design achieves a harmonious balance between aesthetics, structural strength, and eco-responsibility.
Environmental & Societal Impact
Designed around circular economy principles, the project encourages a shift toward eco-conscious lifestyles. Utilizing local waste materials and modular disassembly, components can be easily replaced or recycled—extending the product’s lifecycle while minimizing environmental impact.
Project Brief
Part of a collection featuring the Milan Chair and Apulia Table, this piece pays homage to the artificial and natural beauty of Italy, embodying elegance, charm, and structural magnificence.
Materials
Reclaimed Wood Panels (OSB / HDLC): Sourced from industrial waste (Tool-Space construction leftovers and ABB Figeholm pressboard), giving discarded materials a high-value second life instead of sending them to incineration.
Corrugated Cardboard: Layered in alternating directions for high structural integrity. It is accessible, biodegradable, recyclable up to 5 times, and allows users to build furniture using local cardboard waste.
